Experience:

Adam is an experienced Family Lawyer who joined the Family Law Team at Bowen Buchbinder Vilensky in March of 2015, having previously been a Director at Carr & Co Divorce & Family Lawyers. 

He provides advice and representation at the negotiation stages of cases, representation at mediations and settlement conference, as well as Court representation following the commencement of proceedings, it necessary

 Adam commenced articles in a small law practice in March of 2008, working predominantly in the areas of criminal law in the Magistrates and District Courts, child protection proceedings in the Children’s Court, violence restraining orders and Family Law matters.  Adam also appeared as Counsel in the various commercial litigation matters in the  Magistrates Court, and also as instructing solicitor in two appeals to the Supreme Court of WA (single Judge appeal) and the Court of Appeal.

Having obtained experience in a number of areas of litigation, Adam commenced as a solicitor for Carr & Co Divorce & Family Lawyers on 1 July 2010, and was appointed a Director on 1 December 2012, practicing exclusively in the areas of Family Law, including violence/misconduct restraining orders and child protection matters. 

Adam’s main area of practice was financial and parenting cases, and involved a number of high-end and complex cases, as well as a broader range of experience in complex children’s matters, child support matters (including binding agreements and departure applications), spousal maintenance and costs. 

Adam has also represented third parties to disputes, including grandparents in parenting matters, directors of corporate entities, trusts and creditors and appeared as Counsel for both interim and final hearing, including on instructions as Agent and from Independent Children’s Lawyers.

 In October 2011, Adam was elected onto the Counsel of the Family Law Practitioners' Association of WA.  In October 2012, Adam was elected as the Secretary of FLPAWA a position he held until October 2015.
